hallo all..I am new user of ubuntu...
can i get any idea for ubuntu file permission... network permission and how can i connect workgroup with window platform..and access the file to permission


then can i share from web link of my entire files by sharing LAMP ???

1. First you will have to install samba

Quote :

sudo apt-get install samba

2. After installing, edit the smb.conf ( /etc/samba/smb.conf )

Quote :

sudo nano/etc/samba/smb.conf

What to Change?

* Change Workgroup to your home network. Save.
* Now Right click the folder that you want to share and choose sharing options.
* The option windows will appear and give a check to share this folder and guest access.

3. Restart Samba

Quote :

sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart

Test your home network using another PC.
